How intense has competition become in business now?

In peer group chats, people aren’t talking about how to make money anymore—they’re talking about how to lose money more slowly than others.
Businesses whose gross profit can’t beat Yu’e Bao are everywhere, and there are even people crowding in, fighting to get in and do it.
As for businesses that can still make money in 2026, they all come with barriers that others can’t cross—either technical capability, or resources, or the nerve to take on risks that others don’t dare to shoulder.
What has your industry turned into from all this “outcompeting”? Compare and lament your misfortune.
