Lately I keep seeing everyone talk about data availability, ordering, finality—so many terms that just make my head spin… I’ll focus on one main point: whether the money on your ledger really “exists there.” Can the data be checked by everyone (instead of just screenshots later)? Has the transaction order been messed with (don’t get caught in a sandwich)? How long does it take for it to settle (don’t assume it’s done until it’s actually safe from reversal).

Using the US Treasury yield as a benchmark for on-chain yield products in RWA is also quite popular, but honestly, no matter how good the yield is, if the underlying “can it be verified, will it be tampered with, when is it considered settled” isn’t clear, I’d rather earn less.
I trust data more; intuition is important but too easily led by FOMO, and data at least won’t argue with me… Anyway, when I rebalance my portfolio now, I focus on on-chain data that’s verifiable and has stable confirmation times—don’t trade sleep quality for a few extra points.
