Today, on-chain data confused me again. Clearly, the transactions were already on the chain, but the wallet/dashboard only appeared to update after a delay. Later, I thought it was probably not "slow chain," but rather the indexer chasing blocks, or the Subgraph hasn't fed out the new data yet. Plus, some RPCs are rate-limited, so if you click too often, your requests get dropped... Basically, the "data relay" layer you're viewing is struggling to keep up.

When I’m doing some yield farming, I now habitually leave an on-chain explorer link as proof, so I don’t get scared by frontend delays and make reckless moves. Recently, the "compound yield" staking system has been criticized for being a copycat, and I can understand that. When the underlying data is delayed, it feels even more like hallucinating the gains... Anyway, I’ll go through it first, learn from the mistakes, and not get too caught up.
