Lately, switching back and forth between L2 and the mainnet is really a tug-of-war between saving gas and peace of mind. The mainnet is expensive, but more reliable; I feel more secure about contracts, permissions, and fund flows. L2 offers a smooth experience and friendly fees, so I mostly put small daily transactions there, since the cost of failure is low anyway.

My compromise approach is pretty crude: try small amounts on L2, and for long-term storage or large permissions, I try to go back to the mainnet or at least trim permissions (don't give unlimited access all at once). Recently, AI Agents and automated trading have become popular again, which I find a bit annoying: the narrative can be hyped, but if you want me to hand over my private keys/signatures to something that “operates itself”… honestly, I’d rather go slower.

I don’t need to be understood, I just care more about a sense of control. Whether I make money or not is another matter; first, I want to clear the pitfalls. That’s all for now.
