On-chain, this whole “first come, first served” thing is basically about seeing who can cut the line. This kind of MEV “sorting cleverness” looks, on the surface, like robots are harvesting it—but in reality, the one getting harvested is often people like you and me: those who just click buttons and go. Slippage gets bigger, the execution price looks worse, and sometimes you haven’t even reacted before you’re sandwiched in the middle, stuck as the one taking the hit. Recently, funding rates have also been extremely extreme—while people in the group chat are arguing about whether to reverse the trend or keep squeezing the bubble, I just feel that the more they squeeze, the more it looks like someone already knows what kind of nonsense is going to be released in the next second… In any case, I’m placing orders a little more slowly now, and widening the price spread a bit—don’t rush to be the last piece of “fair” fuel.
