If the answer relies solely on imagination, then I only give it a very small "watering amount," withdraw at the right time, and don't overplay it. Anyway, the more it floods the screen, the more likely I am to get itchy. The most effective way is actually to set exit conditions in advance, rather than making decisions when emotions are high. I still avoid black box types; I prefer to go slower.
