Last night, I got "cut in line" on the blockchain again: I just confirmed, and the next second, the slippage was directly taken away. It felt like I was waiting in line to buy bubble tea and someone reached in from the side to take the cup... MEV, to put it simply, is about who is better at snatching the seat; ordinary people can only serve as background characters. Who does it affect? It affects people like me who are impulsive and love chasing trends. I just wanted to buy a meme for fun, but the sorting process ended up costing me gas fees and price differences paid to others. Thinking about it now, it’s pretty funny. Recently, that main public chain is about to upgrade/maintain, and the group is guessing whether projects will migrate. I think, whether they move or not, those who can cut in line will always find a new team to continue cutting. Anyway, I’ve learned to be smarter now—manually lower the slippage, make fewer impulsive trades, and save a little whenever I can.
