Lately I've been looking at PFPs and various membership cards again, honestly it's quite contradictory: on one hand, talking about "long-term brand value," and on the other, relying on everyone's attention span for a short burst of hype. You say it's useless, but that kind of "membership card required to enter" threshold in the group can indeed filter people; you say it's valuable, but once the hype fades, it's just like an expired ticket.

The more I watch the mempool, the more realistic it becomes: what truly retains people isn't how flashy the avatar is, but whether it can withstand when issues arise. A few days ago, the cross-chain bridge was hacked again, and the group instantly turned into a "don't move yet, wait for confirmation" meeting. The same happened with that oracle's abnormal quote—everyone suddenly became very rational... At this point, no matter how trendy PFPs are, they can't save the situation; it still depends on how the project handles it, how they compensate, and whether anyone is willing to take the hit.

Anyway, I now feel more like riding the bus: I see the bus coming and want to rush, but I still cover my wallet with my hand, waiting for two stops to see if it will break down directly.
