Lately, I’ve really been getting pulled back and forth between gas fees and the user experience: there’s some sense of safety on the mainnet, but the moment you interact, it hurts; L2 feels smooth to use, yet when you bridge back and forth, those “small” amounts across different networks get scattered everywhere. Trying to gather them back together means paying another round of fees—pretty annoying.

My current compromise is: for frequent daily interactions (voting, minting, and small DeFi activities), I basically skip L2 and keep only the “don’t lose” items and large settlements on the mainnet. I’m not chasing saving those few cents on cross-chain. I’d rather choose bridges whose code/audit history I’ve seen and that feel more reliable, and count it as a win if I avoid one less round of hassle.

This airdrop season also feels pretty real. The task platform uses anti-sybil measures plus a points system, making farming feel like clocking in to work… Anyway, I don’t go for 100% attendance. If I really need to use it, I use it, and just leave a bit of on-chain trace. To grind points, I end up forcing it—and by the end, I don’t even know whether the gas I spent is worth more than the airdrop. For now, it’s like this.
