The company requires each employee and each intelligent coding tool (including ClaudeCode and Cursor under Anthropic) to have a monthly AI call cost cap of $1,500. The company stated that employees can view their consumption limits in real-time through an internal data dashboard, and exceptions can be made for special scenarios with approval. Due to this policy, Uber's Chief Technology Officer revealed publicly in April that the company had exhausted its annual AI budget in just four months.
