Multiple Iraqi militia groups announce plans to disarm


Jin10 Data, June 3 — On June 2 local time, the Iraqi Shia militia group "Justice League" announced that it will establish a relevant committee to inventory personnel and weapons, and officially promote the disarmament of connections with various agencies of the "Popular Mobilization Organization," "handing over weapons to the state for unified management." The Iraqi Shia militia group "Imam Ali Brigades" issued a statement on the same day, deciding to sever ties with the agencies of the "Popular Mobilization Organization," and immediately initiate the relevant procedures to inventory and transfer weapons, "handing over weapons to the state for unified management." On the same day, Adnan Fihani, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi National Parliament, issued a statement expressing welcome and appreciation for the decision previously announced by the largest parliamentary bloc, the "Coordination Framework Alliance," and for the stance of the militias announcing disarmament.
