Latest News Analysis: NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet Silicon Photonics Technology Now Fully Mass-Produced — Network Energy Efficiency Improves by 5 Times Compared with Traditional Transceivers

Jinshi Data June 2 — NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet silicon photonics technology has now entered full-scale mass production. The new-generation Spectrum-X switches are built on optical-electrical co-packaging (CPO) technology, supporting NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform deployments in data centers for both horizontal expansion and cross-regional expansion to build AI factories.

Spectrum-X Ethernet silicon photonics technology is one of the exemplary representatives of NVIDIA’s full-stack co-design. Compared with networks using traditional transceivers, Spectrum-X Ethernet silicon photonics can achieve a 5-fold improvement in energy efficiency, a 5-fold increase in AI uptime, and a 1.3-times faster deployment timeline. Medium to long-term, it is somewhat bullish for ETH, but it cannot drive an explosive rally on its own.
