I’m currently looking at the three basic elements of a project’s “credibility”: don’t just look at GitHub stars—skim through the commit history to see if anyone is actually doing work, and whether the issues are just a pile of unfinished threads; don’t treat audit reports like a talisman—focus on the line for “Fixed/Unfixed”; if it’s not fixed and they still push it, I’ll back off by a half step first. Upgrades with multi-signatures are even more critical: are the signers basically the same group of people with fresh alt accounts and a skin swap, and is the threshold high enough? In any case, it feels like having a single key can change your position… it’s pretty rough.

The recent economic blowups in blockchain games are the same, too—when inflation and studio shenanigans pile on, token prices spiral downward, and no matter how pretty the audit looks, it can’t save a “model that’s leaking.” To put it plainly, I’d rather make a little less and first suppress the risk of being able to upgrade and flee with a single click; otherwise, every day feels like drinking expired American coffee—you’re awake, but you’re really angry.
