Telegram announces renaming Toncoin to Gram, with the price rising nearly 20%

Coinjiexin News reports that Toncoin’s price rose nearly 20% on June 1, reaching $2.27, after Telegram’s founder announced that Toncoin would be renamed to “Gram.” Despite Bitcoin and major altcoins falling sharply due to institutional capital outflows, Toncoin’s rise shows that the market continues to be interested in the Ton blockchain supported by Telegram. The rebranding is expected to be completed within the next three weeks, with the goal of restoring the name that Telegram had abandoned under regulatory pressure. Telegram plans to become a primary validator for Ton, and investors believe this will significantly affect network security and on-chain activity. The increase in Toncoin’s price is seen as a signal that Telegram users are realigning with Ton’s native token. With Telegram having more than 950 million users, directly tying the token to the platform will expand its potential utility and distribution channels.
