🍕 The Most Expensive Pizza Ever Bought Worth 10,000 Bitcoins
Let me tell you a story.
Back in May 2010, a programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz was sitting at home in Florida. He had a bunch of Bitcoin sitting in his wallet. Nobody really used it for anything yet. It was just internet money that a few nerds on a forum were playing around with.
So Laszlo had an idea. He went on the BitcoinTalk forum and posted a simple offer. He said he would pay 10,000 BTC to anyone who could get him two pizzas. He even said he liked having leftover pizza to snack on the next day.
A 19 year old guy named Jeremy saw the post. He ordered two Papa John's pizzas, paid for them in normal dollars, and had them delivered to Laszlo's house. In return, he got the 10,000 Bitcoin.
At that time, those coins were worth about 41 dollars.
Forty one dollars. For two pizzas. Sounds fair, right?
Now here is the crazy part.
Today Bitcoin trades around $74,000 per Bitcoin. That means those same 10,000 BTC are worth roughly $740 million.
Read that again. Almost three quarters of a billion dollars. For two pizzas.
This is now officially the most expensive meal in human history.
But here is what most people miss.
Laszlo does not regret it. He has said it many times in interviews. Why? Because that single transaction proved Bitcoin could actually be used to buy real things. It turned Bitcoin from a science experiment into real money. Without that pizza, Bitcoin might not be where it is today.
So what is the lesson for us?
🔹 The asset you ignore today could be life changing tomorrow.
🔹 Real conviction is rare. Most people sell their winners way too early.
🔹 And sometimes the smallest moments in history end up being the biggest.
Every May 22 we celebrate this as Bitcoin Pizza Day. Not to laugh at Laszlo. But to remember how far this thing has come.
The next $740 million dollar mistake is being made by someone right now. The only question is whether you are paying attention.
