CNN: Trump's modifications to the proposed agreement have extended US-Iran negotiations by a week
BlockBeats News, May 31 — According to CNN, officials stated that after a meeting with advisors on Friday, Trump made modifications to the proposed agreement with Iran, which will extend the negotiation process by another week. The specific changes requested by Trump are not yet clear, but officials said the president insisted on including stronger language regarding Iran’s nuclear commitments and its guarantees to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. There are also concerns about the economic relief measures that the agreement might offer to Iran.
Additionally, Trump previously stated that the United States would take over and destroy Iran’s high-enriched uranium stockpile, and claimed that the agreement does not involve any funds exchange.
