Lately, I've been debating whether to use L2 or the mainnet. Honestly, it's about: wanting to save on gas but not wanting to get overwhelmed by bridges and various confirmations. For small, frequent transactions, I mostly use L2; as long as the experience is smooth, that's fine. But whenever it's a "move" of large amounts, or contract interactions that look complicated, I still prefer to go back to the mainnet and spend a bit more gas—at least on-chain traces are clear, making reconciliation easier afterward (my OCD is incurable).

And also, there are a bunch of on-chain data tools and tagging systems being criticized for being outdated or misleading. I feel the same: when a tag says "safe address," I don't fully trust it—it's just a prompt. In the end, I still go through the transaction path myself to see where the money came from and where it's going. There are many tutorials, but now I prefer those that include "post-mortem + pitfalls recorded" over the step-by-step beginner guides… Anyway, the gas saved probably isn't enough to cover the cost of a bridge lesson.
