Just plugged in my phone charger, glanced at the chain, and suddenly remembered that whole “queue jumping” thing: MEV, put simply, is when someone takes up the lane in front of you—your slippage gets worse, your executions get poor, and the worst part is that small orders still think it’s because their hands are slower, when in reality they’re getting played by the ordering. Big players aren’t immune either, but they’re just better at calculating and routing around it—the squeeze at the end still lands on ordinary people’s limited tolerance.

And now a lot of on-chain data tools/tag systems get complained about for being laggy, or even being able to mislead people, and I’m kind of inclined to believe it. Sometimes you see “a whale enters the market,” your heart warms up, and you follow—then half an hour later the label changes, and it turns out it was just an exchange hot wallet moving coins, so you were stressed for nothing. Anyway, I’m the type who always reduces positions before bed. I’d rather miss out on some profit than have my mindset shattered in the middle of the night by queue jumping.
