To be honest, there are only two tricks to keep things from getting messy: keep only one or two commonly used chains in the main wallet, and treat other chains as "temporary parking lots," clearing them out after use; and also, before cross-chain transfers or swapping pools, preview the routing first, otherwise, you might get slippage education, and no matter how well you fill it, you could end up with a strange pool behavior.

Another small habit: only keep a fixed small amount of gas on each chain, don’t keep topping up everywhere all the time, the more you top up, the more anxious you get.
