Midnight checking my phone to look at my wallet, clearly just a small red dip in floating loss, and my mind automatically starts acting: Is it going back to zero, did I buy that art NFT too expensive at the start, is the community also going to disband... On the other hand, when there's a floating profit, no matter how green it looks, I just think "Hmm, okay," and sleep with the lights off. Honestly, the lost money feels like it's scraped off my own body, while the earned money feels more like found money; if I lose it, it's just gone, I might be annoyed but it doesn't hurt.
Recently, someone also uses ETF capital flow and the risk appetite of the US stock market to explain everything. It sounds smooth, but on a personal level, it’s just: emotions jump up and down with the market, especially when your position is heavy, sleep immediately surrenders. Anyway, I’ve learned to be smarter now, thinking clearly before buying: “What if the floor price halves, will I curse?” If yes, then buy less... otherwise, I’d just be torturing myself.
