People keep asking me lately: why does the on-chain data always “lag” for a moment—does that mean someone is front-running?

Actually, a lot of the time, it really isn’t that conspiratorial… Indexers/Subgraphs are a bit like making a table of contents for a giant, thick book of blockchain data: it lets you look things up quickly, but it still takes time to sync. RPC is more like calling the front desk to ask questions—when too many people are asking, it rate-limits you, and your side just shows a spinning wheel, missing a few transactions. The whole feeling is like: “It was there a moment ago, and now it’s gone again.”
So when I see big transfers, or exchanges’ hot and cold wallets moving, they get interpreted as “smart money,” but I usually just wait first. Don’t rush to fill in the story—sometimes the data is just backed up.
Trading is the same: use “practice” to remind yourself—today, practice and don’t chase your emotions; try again tomorrow… I mean, I often get carried away while practicing and still get on a roll, but at least I know when I’m getting worked up.
