Recently, I have been pondering a question: how do the most visionary creators in the blockchain world gradually change the world? Vitalik Buterin's story has given me a lot of inspiration.

Speaking of Ethereum, many people only know that it is a blockchain platform, but few truly understand the growth trajectory of the young genius behind it. Vitalik was born in 1994 into a Russian tech family; his father is a computer scientist. This background immersed him in the world of code and logic from a young age. He started self-learning programming at 12, writing games in C++—this was not only skill accumulation but also an early manifestation of his dedication to the tech world.

The real turning point came in 2011. At 17, Vitalik was introduced to Bitcoin through his father, and blockchain technology instantly ignited his imagination. Decentralization, immutability, distributed ledger—these features made him see the possibility of reshaping the entire financial system. He began to study the Bitcoin white paper in depth, contributed articles to Bitcoin magazines sharing his insights, and gradually made a name for himself in the crypto circle.

But Vitalik quickly realized Bitcoin's limitations. Simple value transfer, limited scripting capabilities, inability to support complex applications—he envisioned a more versatile platform that would allow developers to freely build various decentralized applications. Thus, the concept of Ethereum took shape in his mind.

In 2013, he made a bold decision: drop out of the University of Toronto. Traveling the world with a backpack, attending tech conferences and hackathons, he explained his vision of Ethereum to developers and investors. Despite many doubts, he convinced many people with his firm belief and excellent technical skills.

In 2014, Ethereum's crowdfunding successfully raised about $18 million, but subsequent development faced many difficulties—technical challenges, funding pressures, team disagreements followed one after another. Vitalik relied on his deep technical expertise and leadership to overcome them one by one. On July 30, 2015, the Ethereum mainnet officially launched, marking the true beginning of a new era in blockchain.

Ethereum's significance goes far beyond a digital currency project. The advent of smart contracts made code the law, enabling automatic transactions without third-party trust. Developers built various applications on it—finance, social media, gaming—and the entire ecosystem rapidly prospered, giving rise to countless innovative projects that changed the global financial and technological landscape.

As a result, Vitalik Buterin became a globally recognized figure, named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people. But he did not stop there; he continues to focus on improving Ethereum's performance, security, and scalability, dedicated to promoting blockchain technology worldwide.

Looking at his journey, my deepest impression is: those who truly change the world are often those who dare to pursue grand visions and are willing to pay the price. From a 12-year-old programming enthusiast to the founder of Ethereum, Vitalik has created an era with wisdom and courage. His story inspires countless young people to engage in technological innovation, exploring the unknown and changing the world through technology.
