I just noticed that Near Protocol is being talked about in the crypto community again. If you still don’t know what Near is, check out my perspective.

Simply put, Near Protocol is a blockchain designed to make it easy for developers to build DApps without intermediaries. The system uses Proof-of-Stake, making it quite stable, and most importantly, it can handle a lot of transactions faster than Ethereum thanks to Sharding technology.

Near is the token of this network, used for paying fees, rewards, and staking. It also has a limited supply of 1 billion NEAR, which is good because it might help support the price in the future.

An interesting point is that Near is supported by a strong developer team, such as Erik Trautman (founder of Viking Education) and Alexandra Skidanov (a scientist from Microsoft). The team now has over 70 people. It seems they really know their stuff.

What makes Near Protocol appealing is its focus on developer experience. It offers open-source code, secure data storage, and Rainbow Bridge for cross-chain token transfers, reducing gas fee issues.

When it comes to scalability, this is an area where Ethereum still doesn’t perform very well. Even after switching to ETH 2.0, Near with its Sharding technology handles it better. Because of this, many investors call Near the “ETH Killer.”

A recent interesting development is its partnership with Google Cloud through the Pagoda project (launched earlier last year). Google Cloud will provide technical support and infrastructure for Near’s RPC nodes. This could help Near support more transactions faster, attracting more developers to build Web3 apps on Near.

Regarding the price, NEAR is currently around $1.60, up 4.47% in 24 hours. Based on fundamentals, Near Protocol looks promising for the long term, but the crypto market remains quite volatile. If you’re considering investing, do thorough research first. It’s high risk.

In summary, Near is an interesting option for those who believe scalability is a major issue in blockchain right now, whether they are developers or investors. However, don’t forget that crypto investing carries high risk. Do your research carefully before making decisions.
