Techub News reports that, according to Cointelegraph, the DeFi protocol Lombard Finance announced that it will migrate its cross-chain infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP to support LBTC and cross-chain transmission of Bitcoin. Lombard Finance is a DeFi protocol focused on Bitcoin staking that allows users to mint Bitcoin into a liquidity token, LBTC, to participate in the DeFi ecosystem. This migration to Chainlink CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol) is intended to improve the cross-chain security and reliability of its Bitcoin assets. Chainlink CCIP is the cross-chain communication standard introduced by Chainlink and has already been adopted by multiple mainstream DeFi protocols to replace existing cross-chain solutions.
