I noticed something fascinating by looking at Elon Musk's journey over the past few years. This guy has really built an empire of organizations founded in completely different fields, and it's almost surreal to see how he manages all of it simultaneously.
As many know, it all started with Tesla in 2003. At the time, electric cars were just gadgets for a few enthusiasts. Musk turned that into something huge, with the Model S, Model 3, and others. What really interests me is how Tesla also developed an entire branch around batteries and full self-driving. Not a bad vision for the automotive industry.
Then, there's SpaceX, founded in 2002. Honestly, when you see Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy in action, you understand why space exploration has changed. The idea of reusable rockets seemed crazy before, but now it has become the norm. The Starship project for Mars is clearly science fiction becoming reality.
The organizations founded by Musk are not just Tesla and SpaceX. There's also The Boring Company, launched in 2016, which digs tunnels to solve traffic jams. A bit eccentric as an approach, but it works. The Vegas Loop is a good example of what he's trying to do.
Neuralink is probably one of the most intriguing. Connecting the human brain to computers is science fiction territory, but Musk made it happen in 2016. The implications for neurological diseases and cognitive functions are enormous.
And then there's X, formerly Twitter. In 2022, he bought the platform for about $44 billion, and in 2023, he renamed it X. The changes he made to the advertising model and verification system are controversial, but it's clearly an attempt to transform the network into something broader.
Not to forget OpenAI, where Musk contributed to the founding. Even though he left later, the organization has grown into a major player in AI with GPT and its applications.
What really strikes me is the consistency in Elon Musk's vision across all these organizations: transforming the world toward something more sustainable and advanced. Whether it's renewable energy, space exploration, transportation, or AI, there's an underlying logic. Not always easy to follow, but it's impressive to see how everything interconnects in his overall strategy.
