I have always found it fascinating how one person can launch so many transformative projects. Elon Musk has truly created an ecosystem of organizations based on radical visions—each aiming to solve major problems.
Let's start with Tesla, which he took over after its founding in 2003. It has become much more than just a brand of electric cars. Between the Model S, Model 3, and others, Tesla has established electric as the standard. But what really impresses me is the entire strategy around it—revolutionary batteries, full self-driving, and even SolarCity for energy. It’s consistent, you know.
SpaceX, launched in 2002, is another level. The basic idea was crazy: making space accessible. Reusable Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets, missions to the ISS, and now Starship in development for Mars. It’s ambitious to the point that we sometimes forget it’s actually working.
Then there’s The Boring Company (2016) with its concept of underground tunnels to avoid traffic jams. Vegas Loop is the first concrete example. Then Neuralink, founded the same year, which works on brain-computer interfaces to treat neurological diseases. Brain implants to interact directly with tech—it's science fiction becoming reality.
In 2022, Musk acquired Twitter for about $44 billion and rebranded it as X in 2023. The platform underwent a major overhaul—new advertising model, changes in account verification. His goal is to turn it into a super app with multiple integrated services.
And then OpenAI, where Musk played a founding role in this AI research organization. Even though he left the project, OpenAI has become a key player with GPT and its applications.
When you look at all these organizations founded by Musk, you see a pattern: sustainability, advanced technology, solving large-scale problems. It’s not just business; it’s a coherent vision to transform the world. Whether you agree with his methods or not, you have to acknowledge that the challenges he pursues—clean energy, space exploration, responsible AI, brain-machine interfaces—are the major issues of our time.
