I just looked at the numbers for Elon Musk and I have to say, it's really crazy. The amount Elon Musk earns per second – about $3,700. In just one second. That's more than most people earn in an entire month, and Musk has simply earned that in the time it takes you to drink a coffee.

His wealth was $429 billion in 2024, and when you extrapolate that, it becomes truly absurd. Over $220,000 per minute – more than many people earn in a year. $13.35 million every hour, $320 million every day. The scale is simply beyond grasp for ordinary people.

What fascinates me the most: In one week, Musk earns about $2.24 billion. That’s the budget of some film productions or the annual income of thousands of professionals. And while we work here and try to save, his wealth continues to grow steadily in the background.

The main source of this is, of course, Tesla. The stock has been performing strongly for years, and then he also has SpaceX, xAI, and other projects in his portfolio. The thing is: It’s not even about active work in the traditional sense. It’s more about the valuation of his companies, which constantly shifts and thus influences his net worth.

Looking at this, it becomes clear why so many people talk about wealth building and asset accumulation. The gap between those who have wealth and those who work is getting bigger and bigger. Musk is simply the extreme example of how quickly Elon Musk earns per second and how absurd the numbers become when you extrapolate them. Fascinating and at the same time somehow disturbing.
