The Truth About the CR7 Meme That Everyone Is Talking About
For days, posts have been circulating on X about Cristiano Ronaldo launching his own meme coin CR7. Honestly, the entire crypto community went crazy over this. But here’s the important part: none of this is real. Ronaldo never announced anything, nor did his team. The rumor probably started from the fact that he recently collaborated with a major platform to launch an NFT collection, but that has nothing to do with tokens.
What’s concerning is that there are already several fake coins using his name. CR7DAO, Ronaldo Coin, and others. All scams. A crypto analyst documented a case where they promoted 'Ronaldo Coin' and within minutes, the market cap reached $100 million. Then? Total rug pull. The promoters drained everything and disappeared.
This isn’t new. Something similar recently happened with Kanye West’s token, which skyrocketed and collapsed instantly. Now scammers see the CR7 meme wave and take the opportunity to launch fake projects. A crypto investor summarized it well in a post: the only people making money with these tokens are those with early access or insider information. If you don’t have that, you lose.
The cryptocurrency market remains fragile and full of traps. If you see anything about the CR7 meme or any celebrity token, always verify the official source. Because the difference between winning and losing here is sometimes just one click. Stay alert to what’s really happening in crypto, not rumors.
