Lately, I've been debating whether to run on the mainnet or a layer 2 solution. To put it simply: either it's expensive but reliable, or it's cheap but occasionally gets stuck. My simple approach is to layer: small, frequent transactions go to the layer 2 as a "daily wallet," and for large transfers or long-term holdings, I prefer to pay a bit more in gas to sleep better on the mainnet. In terms of experience, don't aim for perfection in one step; the fewer confirmations needed, the better. After all, saving not just money but also peace of mind.
By the way, looking at blockchain games with inflation and studio-driven grinding, it really seems like there's someone footing the bill behind the "cheap experience"... So now, I'm more concerned about exitability: even if it's slower and more expensive, at least I can get out. That's it for now, continuing to be a tuition-paying student.
