Wells Fargo significantly increases Ethereum ETF holdings
Coin World News: In the first quarter of 2026 13F filing submitted by Wells Fargo to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the bank significantly increased its holdings of Ethereum ETFs. Specifically, the holdings of the BlackRock iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) rose from approximately 672,600 shares in the fourth quarter of 2025 to about 1.1 million shares, up 63.5%. The holdings of the Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW) increased by 37% to 257,000 shares. Despite Ethereum’s price falling by about 29% in the first quarter and spot Ethereum ETFs overall seeing outflows, Wells Fargo’s total value of Ethereum ETF holdings still reached approximately $21.5 million. In addition, the bank made major adjustments to its related stock positions—cutting its stake in Galaxy Digital, owned by Michael Novogratz, by nearly 97% (about $54.7 million), while increasing its holdings of MSTR, owned by Michael Saylor, by 125% to approximately 726,000 shares.
