#TrumpVisitsChinaMay13 The $RKC "Red Kitten Crew" Exploit
The hackers bypassed 2FA (allegedly via a SIM swap or session hijack) to promote a Solana-based token launched on Pump.fun.
The Pump: The account posted the CA (7HgfXftRBBqsYtAEYcqjGLQrNJLL6Tww9ek4rE3Apump) and a "Red Bandit" GIF. Market cap rocketed from near-zero to $12 million in roughly 18 minutes.
The Dump: Insiders, who had "sniped" the supply using ~80 coordinated wallets, began dumping immediately. The market cap collapsed by 98% to under $200k within the hour.
The Profit: Blockchain forensic tools suggest the attackers walked away with between $1.1M and $2.8M in SOL.
## GameStop (GME) Market Whiplash
The hack was timed perfectly to exploit existing volatility. At the time of the post, GameStop was already in the news due to:
The eBay Bid: Rumors and filings regarding a massive $56 billion bid for eBay by Ryan Cohen.
Michael Burry’s Exit: Reports that Burry had exited his GME position in protest of the acquisition.
When the "Roaring Kitty" account posted, algorithmic trading bots scanned the activity as a "Return of the King" signal. GME stock surged +13% (hitting a session high of $26.27) before the posts were deleted. Once the hack was confirmed, the stock erased all gains, closing the day down at $23.19.
## 2026 Social Security Crisis
This incident has reignited a fierce debate on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the security of "Gold" and "Blue" verified accounts.
The Delayed Response: The suspicious posts remained live for nearly 40 minutes, a lifetime in high-frequency trading.
The Impersonator Shadow: A large parody account (@RoaringKitty) added to the confusion by posting unrelated crypto content simultaneously, making it harder for retail traders to distinguish the real Keith Gill from the noise.
