Texas AG Hits Netflix With Suit Over Sale of Kids’, Users’ Data

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Netflix, alleging the company collects and sells users’ personal data, including that of children, despite past assurances. The suit claims Netflix built a “behavioral-surveillance program” that exploits user data for profit, especially since its pivot to digital advertising in 2022. This action is part of a broader series of privacy enforcement lawsuits initiated by Paxton’s office against major tech companies.
