Been seeing a lot of people write off NFTs as dead, but here's what's actually happening - the wealthy collectors never left. They're still actively moving in this space, just way more quietly than during the 2021 hype cycle.
Animoca Brands' Yat Siu made a solid point about this recently. While the casual retail crowd moved on after the market cooled, the serious money in crypto has continued accumulating digital assets. It's just not as visible because you're not seeing the daily social media hype anymore.
So is NFT dead? Depends on what you mean. Dead as a speculative retail frenzy? Yeah, probably. Dead as an asset class for people actually building and collecting in crypto? Not even close. The market shifted from FOMO-driven to fundamentals-driven, which honestly is healthier long-term.
The collectors who actually understand the space - the ones with real capital - they know the difference between actual utility and pure speculation. That's where the real NFT market is operating now. Less noise, more signal.
If you're still thinking NFTs are completely dead, you're probably just not looking at where the actual activity is happening. The market's just a lot quieter without all the hype.
