BTC reserves on OTC platforms have just hit a new all-time low.
While most attention remains focused on exchange reserves, few pay attention to the BTC supply still available through OTC platforms.
OTC platforms allow major partners to trade Bitcoin privately, while minimizing the market impact that large trades can have on the price.
These channels are often used by institutions, professional investors, and large corporations.–
Today, BTC reserves on OTC have dropped to a historic low of only 142,000 BTC.
In September 2021, this reserve level was around 550,000 BTC.
Although there is steady inflow, demand quietly absorbs the available supply without significantly affecting prices.
But once OTC supply becomes too scarce… where will all these buyers go to purchase their Bitcoin?
