Which e-book app should I choose? Lately, I’ve been trying out a bunch of different services, but honestly, I’m getting way too confused and it’s driving me crazy. ebookjapan, DMM Books, dブック, コミックシーモア… aren’t there just too many options?
When I looked into it, I found that each service has pretty different strong points. If you’re choosing based on how generous the first-time discounts are, コミックシーモア or DMM Books are pretty good. You can read the first book almost for free. But apparently, after the second time, it’s not so great.
On the other hand, if you plan to keep using it for a long time, ebookjapan seems to have more comprehensive discounts. Weekend campaigns, point cashback, and so on. If you’re thinking about ongoing use, this one seems like the better deal in the long run.
Also, if you care about ease of use, whether you can buy directly in the app is quietly important. Having to open a browser is a hassle. In that sense, I’ve heard KINOPPY and BOOK☆WALKER are good.
Honestly, whether you’re mainly into manga or novels, whether you buy all at once or little by little… it feels like the “best” recommended app changes depending on that. It’s probably correct to choose based on your own reading style. E-book services are pretty deep.
