Brothers, is this wave of privacy-coin hype really a comeback—or just the last round of celebration?

First, take a look at the newest Coinglass data—ZEC is currently around $618, up 8% over the past 24 hours.

Don’t just look at this number. More importantly, over the last 30 days it’s up 110%, up 1500% year-to-date, with a market cap of $9.5 billion—straight-up stomping Monero underfoot.

But the truth always lies on the second layer—peel it back layer by layer.

---

**Price action:** Strong—but it’s a bit scary how strong

On the surface—what a great rally. On May 6, it surged nearly 30% in a single day, wiping out $62 million worth of short positions, leaving the bears crying—wiped out in the bathroom.

So what’s the real situation?

A trader called Loracle opened a leveraged long of more than 10x at $340 on April 24, then kept rolling it over until now. He still hasn’t closed it; his unrealized profit is $7.7 million, with an average position price of $387.

He’s still on the train. What does that mean? The whales don’t think this is the top yet.

---

**On-chain metrics:** The hype is real—but so are the signals we can’t read

ZEC’s social discussion volume has surged to a new high since the end of 2025. Big names like Naval, Arthur Hayes, and Balaji have been stepping up one after another, and Multicoin Capital has publicly said they are “heavily positioned.”

But there’s one fatal problem—transactions inside the privacy pools are basically invisible.

That makes things awkward: we don’t know whether these funds represent “real adoption” or “speculative coin hoarding.” Since the publicly reported on-chain trading volume hasn’t really increased, it suggests retail hasn’t fully rushed in yet.

Whales have eaten their fill—so who’s taking over the next buy?

---

**Macro narrative:** The logic is solid, but the core team has run

This time, the ZEC narrative really does look great:

· **Institutional entry**—Grayscale applied for a ZEC spot ETF, Robinhood added it for trading, and Foundry opened a mining pool
· **Anti-quantum narrative**—a quantum recovery wallet was released within a month, aiming for full anti-quantum capability in 12–18 months
· **KOL endorsement**—Arthur Hayes said the “target price is 10% of BTC,” and at the current $80k, that’s $8,000

Sounds almost perfect, doesn’t it?

But there’s a bombshell: the core team behind building ZEC—Electric Coin Company—had the entire team resign this January.

No one is truly developing anymore. This chain is now running on the community by itself. No matter how beautiful the narrative is, if nobody is writing code, how long can it last?

---

**Risks:** What am I hesitating about?

**Positive side**—institutional recognition + rising privacy demand + anti-quantum expectations + celebrity effect. In the short term, sentiment is extremely euphoric.

**What I’m concerned about**—the core team has fled, fundamentals can’t keep up with the hype; the privacy-pool “data black hole” makes it impossible to see real demand clearly; and with a 1500% gain this year, profit-taking positions are piled up like mountains.

**Risk ace in the hole**—if the $500 psychological level breaks to the downside, the road ahead is wide open.

**My trading plan**

**Long strategy (aggressive right-side chasing):**

· **Entry:** After a pullback, when price stabilizes in the $560–$580 zone, test longs with a small position
· **Stop-loss:** Below $540 (if it breaks the daily structure, exit)
· **Targets:** First $650, then $700
· **Logic:** The trend isn’t saying it’s the top—but you still must set a stop-loss and bet with caution

**Short strategy (waiting for signal-based setups):**

· **Entry:** Rebound into the $650–$670 range, with a 15-minute-level lagging signal (rejection wick)
· **Stop-loss:** Above $685
· **Targets:** Pull back to $580; if it breaks down, look for $520
· **Logic:** After a 1500% rally, any correction could be brutal

**Position sizing:** ZEC is extremely volatile—recommend no more than 2% of total capital. Add only after right-side confirmation; don’t guess the top or bottom.

---

**One last question:**

At this level, do you believe Arthur Hayes’ “$8,000” prophecy—or do you think the project, now that the core team is gone, will eventually go to zero?
