Australian police seize $4.1 million worth of Bitcoin linked to illegal activities on the dark web market

Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 8th, according to Cointelegraph reports, the New South Wales police in Australia seized 52.3 bitcoins during a 15-month investigation, worth approximately 5.7 million AUD (about 4.1 million USD), and arrested two suspects suspected of operating the Sydney Ingleburn dark web market. The police stated that the seized bitcoins are believed to be related to dark web illegal activities involving drug and weapon trafficking. The operation was carried out by the State Crime Command Cyber Crime Team Strike Force Andalusia, and is considered one of the largest dark web-related cryptocurrency seizures in Australia. Meanwhile, AUSTRAC has recently strengthened its anti-money laundering regulations on domestic virtual asset service providers and cryptocurrency exchanges.
