A broke guy asked a big shot: I have nothing, what’s the fastest way to make money?

The big shot was calmly cracking a walnut, without even lifting his eyelids: “The fastest methods are all in criminal law, go look them up, pick whichever you like.”

The broke guy’s face turned green: “Brother, I want a legit way!”

The big shot put down the walnut, stared at him: “Legit? Then you should be asking not ‘fastest,’ but ‘why.’ Why should you be faster than others?”

The broke guy hesitated for a long time: “I can endure hardship, I’m willing to work!”

The big shot smiled, like winter wind: “The least valuable thing in this world is enduring hardship. Go look at the construction sites, who can’t endure hardship? Have they gotten rich?”

“Making money isn’t a 100-meter dash; it’s searching for mushrooms in the dark. Some use flashlights, wear night-vision goggles, know where it just rained. And you? If you don’t fall into a pit and die, consider yourself lucky.”

— You’ve heard this joke before, but you forget it after laughing.

It’s just about two words: qualification.

What makes you qualified to earn this money? Is it just because you have a big face and a tough life? Or because of that “working mindset” in your head — thinking that labor should be rewarded? The world isn’t your family’s company; casinos only recognize chips, not hard work.

So what to do? Forget “fast,” embrace “dark” — not illegal, but acknowledging that the world runs on information gaps.

Three hacker mindsets, directly copied:

1. Seize cognition — When others ask “how to do it,” you ask “why.” When new things emerge, tear apart the underlying logic like a madman, look at first-hand data, dive into top circles. Turn yourself into a high-quality information processor.

2. Fake momentum — Want to connect with big shots? Don’t shout “I can endure hardship.” Spend a month mastering everything in the field, start daily analysis. After three months, outsiders will see you as an expert. Pretend to be impressive, then slowly become truly impressive once you’re in.

3. Steal the model — Don’t build from zero. Find a stable money-maker in the same industry, study everything about them pixel by pixel: products, traffic, content, monetization. Use their map to build your own vehicle, create barriers.

The core is one sentence: Don’t be the worker, be the organizer; don’t be the laborer, be the arbitrageur.
