Golden Finance reports that on May 7th, mETH Protocol officially announced that it will gradually cease the operation of its liquidity re-staking token cmETH, with other products operating as usual. The minting function for cmETH was shut down on May 7, 2026, and the final EigenLayer reward distribution will be completed in mid-June 2026. The reward claiming window will close on November 7, 2026.
mETH Protocol stated that after a comprehensive assessment of the current track development, shutting down cmETH is the most prudent choice to reallocate resources toward directions that can create more lasting value for users. Existing holdings are unaffected, and unstaking and bridging functions will continue to be open.
