I find my sensitivity to "floating losses" to be ridiculous: when I have paper gains, I might feel a bit better, and after a nap, I forget; once I have floating losses, even if I haven't lost my principal, my mind automatically writes the worst-case scenario, and I’ll even get up in the middle of the night to check the K-line, as if someone is stealing my wallet. What's even funnier is that when I see a large transfer on-chain or a movement in the exchange's hot and cold wallets, the group chat immediately starts interpreting it as "smart money coming in / about to dump," I casually say "why don’t you ask the person making the transfer," but my hands still tremble as I flip through my positions to check... Basically, floating losses aren’t just about money; it’s that feeling of shame from "Did I judge wrong?" combined with black swan PTSD that gets me all worked up. Later, I had to force myself to set an alarm: I’m not allowed to look at on-chain movements until I hit my stop-loss point, or I really won’t be able to sleep.
