Recently, people keep saying that certain dApps "freeze for a moment," but often it's not the chain being slow; it's the data retrieval layer that's struggling: the indexer/Subgraph hasn't caught up to the latest blocks, or the RPC is being rate-limited, and the interface is queuing or throttling you directly. Basically, the chain produces blocks continuously, but what the front end sees is "results organized for you," and if the organizers are overwhelmed, it will stutter.

Airdrop season makes this even more obvious. Task platforms, after the anti-snipe measures, have a bunch of scripts that look like clocking in at work. When traffic surges, the public RPCs get overwhelmed first, and the Subgraph also gets delayed. A few days ago, I actually thought about uninstalling a few wallet tools to avoid constantly seeing red timeout errors... but then I thought, never mind, in this node industry, you have to accept "imperfection." If you want to blame something, don’t jump to blame consensus first. I suggest everyone check if the same RPC endpoint is being overwhelmed by everyone before jumping to conspiracy theories.
