Techub News, citing a report by CoinPost, said mining firm Core Scientific announced it will acquire Bitcoin mining company Polaris DS for approximately $421 million. The company plans to convert its power infrastructure in Oklahoma into an AI data center, with the acquisition expected to be completed in Q3 2026. Core Scientific is one of North America’s largest Bitcoin mining firms, and it relisted on NASDAQ in January 2024. This acquisition is part of the company’s strategy to fully transition into AI data center operations, aiming to repurpose the 440MW power infrastructure originally used for Bitcoin mining directly for AI workloads and expand total capacity to 1.5 GW.
