Japanese and South Korean stock markets open higher across the board, with the Korean stock market rising nearly 2%

Golden Finance reports that on May 7th, the South Korean KOSPI index opened up 144.16 points, a 1.95% increase, closing at 7,528.72 points. The Nikkei 225 index opened higher by 1.2%. (Dongxin News)
