BlockBeats News, May 7 — The U.S. Central Command issued a statement indicating that on the morning of May 6 (U.S. Eastern Time) at 9 a.m. (Beijing Time 9 p.m.), U.S. forces fired upon the Iranian-flagged oil tanker “Hasna” in the Gulf of Oman, damaging its steering gear and preventing it from heading to an Iranian port.

The U.S. military stated that the vessel violated U.S. sanctions measures. After multiple warnings proved ineffective, a F/A-18 fighter jet fired 20mm cannon rounds at it. The U.S. Central Command said that the blockade on ships attempting to enter or exit Iranian ports remains fully in effect. U.S. forces continue to act cautiously and professionally to ensure the blockade is enforced. (Jin10)
