According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announcement today, the FBI charged 30 individuals—including lawyers like Nicolo Nourafchan (alleged to be a core figure who recruited sources and accessed confidential law firm documents)—who were involved in a decade-long international conspiracy to steal significant non-public information (MNPI) from major mergers and acquisitions transactions, profiting tens of millions of dollars.

They described it as dismantling a criminal network composed of insiders, intermediaries, and traders, with 19 people arrested today. The investigation is still ongoing.
