Very different from Trump's statement, the U.S. Secretary of State says Iran still holds half of its pre-war missile stockpile
U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said on the 27th that Iran currently still retains half of its pre-war missile stockpiles. This is very different from what U.S. President Trump had previously said. In an interview that day, Rubio said, “At present, they (Iran) still have half of the missiles.” However, he also claimed that Iran “has no factories, no navy, and no air force—everything has been destroyed.” On the evening of the 1st of this month, Trump, in a nationwide televised address, said Iran’s missiles have “nearly run out or been destroyed,” and that the U.S.’s core strategic goal is “close to being completed.” Separately, according to assessments by the U.S. military and intelligence departments cited by the U.S. side on the 18th of this month, Iran still retains about 70% of its pre-war missile stockpiles.
