Lately, I’ve been seeing a bunch of Meme tokens getting launched around after celebrities’ one-liners. Veteran players tell newcomers not to take the last step—sounds a bit outdated, but it’s genuinely useful… Attention shifts so fast that you don’t even have time to think, “What exactly am I doing?”
Back to L2 and the mainnet, my own compromise is pretty straightforward: the mainnet should handle only a few must-trust, must-go-with-the-strongest-settlement tasks—like large deposits and withdrawals, and key authorizations. For other everyday interactions, I offload them to L2, which saves gas and keeps things calmer. The experience is good, but I treat “bridges” as a risk multiplier: the more often you cross back and forth, the more it feels like you’re adding unnecessary variables to yourself.
One more small discovery: when I scale my goals down, I actually stick with them longer. I used to want to “optimize” all positions and all protocols in one go, and that ended with me getting my mindset blown up from all the tinkering. Now I set a simple rule: move less, cross less, and chase fewer hot trends. If I can pay one less lesson on-chain, I pay one less. After all, going slower isn’t a big deal—at least it’s less likely to get you carried away by emotions.
