Iran Forms Hormuz Strait Management Agency, Israel Mobilizes Entire Air Force

The Iranian government officially established a new agency to manage shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday (5/5) local time. This move was made amid escalating tensions in the logistics route, following President Masoud Pezeshkian's statement asserting that the United States' demand for Iran to surrender is impossible. Iran's joint military command also warned of a large-scale retaliatory attack against any military actions targeting their islands, ports, or coastlines.
The situation heated up again after Israel's military announced readiness to deploy its entire air force to attack Iran if necessary. This combat readiness was triggered by U.S. intelligence reports claiming that Iran secretly laid additional mines in the Strait of Hormuz during the ceasefire period. In response to these reports, Donald Trump also issued a stern statement urging Iran to surrender immediately to avoid a larger military confrontation.
On the other hand, Iran denied accusations related to recent attacks on U.S. United Arab Emirates (UAE) oil infrastructure and called foreign provocateurs suspects of sabotage. Iran accused third parties of deliberately creating chaos in the waters to justify the U.S. military strengthening its forces there.
