GPT is starting to tighten controls gradually! Now, whether it's ChatGPT or registering for Codex, phone number verification is mandatory. The key issue is that domestic +86 phone numbers simply cannot pass the verification, directly showing an error message that the number is invalid, and retrying repeatedly is useless. Currently, the three tested methods that can bypass phone number verification are: 1. Preferably verify with a Google Voice number, which is reliable and easy to use. 2. Get an overseas eSIM, which is considered the most stable long-term option.
