The Crypto World News reports that Cheung Kong (00001.HK) announced it will cease to recognize its investment in Vodafone Three. Vodafone Three’s issued share capital is owned 51% by Vodafone and 49% by Hutchison (an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of the company). On May 5, 2026, the parties entered into a framework agreement, whereby Vodafone will inject funds into Vodafone Three before the cancellation is completed. On the scheduled completion date of the cancellation, Hutchison will write off at a cost of 4.3 billion pounds (equivalent to HKD 45.49B), and Vodafone Three must pay the cost in cash to Hutchison when the cancellation takes effect. The group will recognize a gain of approximately HKD 4.7 billion upon termination of its entire interest in Vodafone Three for the cancellation.
